The sarcophagus form, introduced about 1810, was the most popular form in the early Victorian period. This box has a beautiful inlay on the top and trim, and features pressed wood on the inner lid. It has been relined and is in beautiful antique condition. It has four little ball feet, and the handles may have been replaced in a previous restoration.
