Burr yew has wonderful deep, rich color. While particularly difficult to work, it produces a remarkable object. The caddy is from the Regency period, roughly about 1810-1820. Fun fact: during that period Jane Austen wrote most of her books, and the British burned Washington in the War of 1812. Can you believe this box has survived so many years in such a gorgeous condition? Excellent antique condition.
